Why Mad Money?
When I was going on my first date as a teenager, my grandma pulled out a $20 bill. She told me it was not for spending on snacks or the movie or anything else on the date.
It was my Mad Money.
I gave her a puzzled look and told her I did not know what in the world she was talking about. She said in her day, you always had your mad money in case the date was bad and needed a quick exit - if you needed to get a cab or make a call.
My young mind was tickled by the concept and it immediately became an inside joke with us.
